NANNU BROVU LALITHA

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we did not stop our productions. Instead, we switched to an online platform to publish work. Thus emerged “Nannu Brovu Lalitha,” a Bharathanatyam dance film (one of the first of its kind!) that narrates glimpses of Smt. Lalitha Radhakrishnan’s life.

A Note from the creator, Guru Smt. Akila Iyer: "Smt. Lalitha Radhakrishnan, my mother, passed away in November of 2019. She would tell me stories of once crossing a raging river to get to the Kalvai Villiage when she was a young girl. She learned music, both Veena and Violin , but she would also complain about her fingers aching, or just not being smart enough! Although she had many fears, she was able to achieve all she set out to do. This is a tribute to her, a collection of memories that linger in my mind, with beautiful songs rendered by Kalasree Pusthakam Ramaa. It is a reminder that even though we live with many worries and "fears" - there are those who protect and guide us from above. Nannu Brovu Lalitha."
